Kuvona Cultural Experience
Accommodation: Between Shiluvari Lakeside Lodge (4/5 nights) , and Community-Homestead stays (1/2 nights), the guests enjoy a combination of relaxed African Home comfort and multiple award winning Country Lodge with Lake and Mountain views as their home.
Project Participation: Various activities are constantly taking place within the communities and our participants have the opportunity to actively participate in activities such as those listed in the Cultural Activities above.
Interaction with Traditional Leaders: Through Kuvonas Community development participation, a relationship exists with Traditional leadership structures allowing our participants to meet, interact and observe Traditional leadership in an authentic and natural way.
Cultural Touring: Not forgetting the participants are on vacation, excursions are made to the various artists, womens Pottery, Batik and Beading co-operatives as well as cultural sites such as the Sacred Lake and Holy forest.
Cultural understanding: Visiting Homesteads in a natural way as guests not Tourists, and interacting with community activities allows visitors and hosts to form a neutral cameraderie, stripped of the pretentions of "typical tourist", the participant is accepted into the way of life through their participation. Some meals are hosted by community families and traditional cultural ways are shared with the participants.
Traditional Cultural Festival: Following an afternoon of African Drum playing workshop we culminate in Festival evening within one of the community homesteads with Traditional dancing, drumming and dining together.
